Russell Nelson’s Lie about Passover

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12

 Yesterday I received an e-mail from Melissa that made me grateful I was sitting down. She came across a pro-Mormon Facebook page that screams false prophet, reminding us of the inherent dangers of Mormonism.

The FB page had a caption of an Israelite painting blood over a doorpost, followed by Nelson’s blasphemous declaration –

“At the first passover, [sic] the destroying angel did pass over houses that were marked with blood on the doorposts. In our day, the faithful keep the Word of Wisdom. It is one of our signs unto God that we are His covenant people.” — Russell M. Nelson General Conference, ‘Addiction, or Freedom,’ October 1988

Make no mistake my friends, Mr. Nelson is a very intelligent man. As a retired heart surgeon, he knows what’s going on intellectually, however, as our bible verse today reveals, this isn’t about flesh and blood.

There’s  a distinct line between being the one who’s fooled, and the one who fools others. From what Mr. Nelson said, we must accept he crossed that line at some point.

Colossians 2:16, and Galatians 4:9-11 are reminders we’re free from the Law. Besides all that, a dietary law has nothing to do with Moses marking the doorposts with blood!

Truth:

This was the first Passover, and blood was/is the sign you’re a follower of God, not what you’re eating, or drinking.

Blood has always been the key to a covenant relationship with the Lord, hence, His Son’s shedding His own blood on the cross, making Him the Lamb that was slain.

Exodus 12:7, 13 “And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. 13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.”

There’s nothing in that passage about the Word of Wisdom, and Mr. Nelson knows full well he’s tricking members. Shame, shame, shame on him!

Be sure you share this all important truth with a Mormon today!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
