A book written by Sheri Dew, Deseret Book CEO, became the subject of an article I found on Truth and Transparency website. As an FYI, Truth & Transparency was formerly known as Mormon WikiLeaks.
We pray their most informative, and well researched article will be read by Mormons looking for info on their prophet. To read the entire article, see False Story Removed from Newest Book on the Life of Mormon President Russell M. Nelson.
Apparently Ms. Dew’s book was written in 2019, with its sole focus on the life of Russell Nelson.
Without making this too confusing, the article exposed the multiple revisions made to the book, before its initial publication. One major problem is how the edited part of the book showed up in the March 2019 online version of LDS Living. Oops.
Another shameful thing about this is how Russell Nelson allowed different versions of the lie about a supposed experience he had, to be published numerous times via LDS publications, in addition to the book. If that wasn’t bad enough, just wait, there’s more…
Faithful LDS members mentioned in Nelson’s faith promoting story, contacted Deseret Book when they heard of the incorrect information being passed around.
Part of one version of his story included the claim he led a husband and wife to Mormonism.
“…When two other colleagues—a husband and wife—showed interest in the Church, he explained some of the principles and loaned them a copy of the Book of Mormon. A week later they returned it with a polite thank-you….” Ensign June 1984
The LDS family explained that story is about their parents. Only the father served in Korea. The mother had never been to Korea, nor was she a nurse, as Nelson claimed.
There are so many versions of this supposed event you could write a book on his lies alone. What makes the story credible is the Mormon family involved who called to correct the bogus info.
Unfortunately, they’ve allowed a spirit of deception to cloud their discernment.
Please, don’t forget to pray for all involved, including Mormons who read this shameful display of exalting a false prophet!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
Nelson has lied his whole life about their church. By now I think it’s second nature. But the author and Deseret should have done a better job of fact checking.
