Acts 17:26 “And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation”.
Again, the Church has been making a lot of noise about the race issue. We’re wondering if Mr. Cook’s statement about a hinge-point, and their past behavior not always being ‘Christ-like’, is a precursor to repenting for their racist doctrine. We hope so!
One also has to wonder what Mr. Cook’s great-grandfather, Heber C. Kimball, would have thought about this talk. Kimball didn’t think too highly of non-whites, and even taught blacks are slaves mentally.
The glaring problem in all of this, of course, is their beloved canon; the Book of Mormon, and Pearl of Great Price. If they’re the only true church on the face of the earth, why is it a challenge to do better?
Please, pray for members to think about their church’s past, as well as what they’re teaching today!
