Christian Era
Acts 11:26 “And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.”
Mormon leaders have historically taught that Christianity is as old as Adam. That’s a difficult theory to live up to considering Jesus wasn’t born yet!
Sadly, the problem of dating didn’t deter any of the Mormon leaders.
Also take notice of how they’ve changed the subject matter by pointing out that the ‘correct’ date of Jesus’ birth was April 6, BC 1.
For those who are unaware of the significance of this date…April 6, 1830 is the official date of the founding of Mormonism.
By throwing out the Bible and convincing hundreds of people there’s a problem with the written word, Smith was able to introduce his heresies.
Not long ago while speaking with my mother on the phone, I mentioned a series of sermons my pastor was preaching on from the book of Romans.
At the end of our conversation, she asked me where the book of Romans was located and who wrote it.
Now I want to clarify something here. 1. When I was LDS I wouldn’t have known where is was either. 2. I want to underscore that I’m not saying your salvation or walk with the Lord, is dependent upon you knowing where to find the book of Romans, or that you need to know the apostle Paul wrote it. That’s not what I’m talking about here.
If you’re a home teacher to other members in your congregation, why don’t you know where to find a book in the Bible?
I’m wondering why she didn’t learn about this at church? She was born and raised into Utah Mormonism. She’s lived there all but 4-5 years of her entire life. If they’re Christians why don’t they know?
My heart was sick when I hung up the phone, and couldn’t do anything but cry. How very, very sad.
I know I’m not alone with this example, so don’t forget to pray for people who have family and friends in Mormonism, and for LDS members as well!
With Love in Christ —
Michelle
