Book of Mormon: Plates too Small…but All is Inspired and God will Figure it Out Mormon Dilemma 174

Book of Mormon: Reformed Egyptian & Hebrew Changed, Plates too Small, but All is Inspired & God will Figure it Out

Discourses of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 244 “On the 523rd page of the fourth edition, it reads: “And now, behold we have written this record according to our knowledge in the characters which are called among us the Reformed Egyptian, being handed down and altered by us, according to our manner of speech; and if our plates had been sufficiently large, we should have written in Hebrew; but the Hebrew hath been altered by us also; and if we could have written in Hebrew, behold, ye would have had no imperfection in our record, but the Lord knoweth the things which we have written, and also that none other people knoweth our language; therefore he hath prepared means for the interpretation thereof.””

Galatians 1:6-9 “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”

This verse in Mormon scripture is used by the Mormons I’ve listened to as proof that God supplies. I’m always amazed this particular story from the Book of Mormon doesn’t sound the alarm for those who are investigating Mormonism, or for those already ensnared in its grip.

This story is so unbelievable! Where in the Bible does it ever say God didn’t provide the supplies for writing scripture or that the inspired men of God, altered an entire language?!? God is not a god of confusion as it says in 1 Corinthians 14:33.

This LDS reference, as well as the one from our post yesterday when Spencer Kimball claimed the adulteress couldn’t be forgiven, are two of the worst things this church has ever published. It’s absolutely heartbreaking to think people would believe these lies.

Using demonstrative evidence from God’s word, be sure to share with a Mormon why we can always trust the Lord and what it means that the Bible is reliable!

With Love in Christ —
