Do What Prophets Say Even When Wrong Mormon Dilemma 363

Do What Prophets Say; Even When Wrong it’s None of Your Business

 Journal of Discourses 6:32 “…WAKE UP! WAKE UP, YE ELDERS OF ISRAEL, AND LIVE TO GOD and none else; and learn to do as you are told, both old and young: learn to do as you are told for the future. And when you are taking a position, if you do not know that you are right, do not take it—I mean independently. But if you are told by your leader to do a thing, do it. None of your business whether it is right or wrong.” – Heber C. Kimball, Salt Lake City, November 8, 1857

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

The first directives God gives to us in each verse above is turn to, and acknowledge Him. After the Lord gets that out of the way, He imparts to us what we should do and expect.

Lean not to ourselves and He will direct us.

Compare those two verses with the directives from the Church. They said to live to God and none else and in their very next breath they tell you to learn to do as you’re told.

And consider this:

1. Has God ever told us to do something wrong?

2. Where in the Bible does it say to do something and it’s none of your business why?

3.The Lord has always explained to us why we should or shouldn’t do something by providing examples of cause and effect.

Pray for the dear Mormon people to listen to the Lord, and not their leaders!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
