Do What Prophets Say; Even When Wrong it’s None of Your Business
Journal of Discourses 6:32 “…WAKE UP! WAKE UP, YE ELDERS OF ISRAEL, AND LIVE TO GOD and none else; and learn to do as you are told, both old and young: learn to do as you are told for the future. And when you are taking a position, if you do not know that you are right, do not take it—I mean independently. But if you are told by your leader to do a thing, do it. None of your business whether it is right or wrong.” – Heber C. Kimball, Salt Lake City, November 8, 1857
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
The first directives God gives to us in each verse above is turn to, and acknowledge Him. After the Lord gets that out of the way, He imparts to us what we should do and expect.
Lean not to ourselves and He will direct us.
Compare those two verses with the directives from the Church. They said to live to God and none else and in their very next breath they tell you to learn to do as you’re told.
And consider this:
1. Has God ever told us to do something wrong?
2. Where in the Bible does it say to do something and it’s none of your business why?
3.The Lord has always explained to us why we should or shouldn’t do something by providing examples of cause and effect.
Pray for the dear Mormon people to listen to the Lord, and not their leaders!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
“It is the Lord God you must follow and Him you must revere. Obey Him, Serve Him hold fast to Him (Deuteronomy 13:3,4)
“I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare you.” (Acts 20:29)
In Deuteronomy 18:21,22: The Lord gives His people a litmus test that they can perform on any person claiming to be a prophet of God. The failure of Joe Smith to pass the Lords litmus test, as prescri9bed in Deuteronomy 18:21,22, is a dark mark on all Mormons, especially on the General Authorities.
Why hasn’t the Mormon church investigated and pondered the many prophecies given by Joe Smith that never came true? Is it because they don’t embrace the Words of the Lord, as written in the Bible, believing them to be creations and interpretations of man? (See Article 8 of Articles of Faith)
The facts about Joe Smith are there. The GAs continue to make up excuses for his failures as a “Man of God”)?). The Mormon people would rather continue listening to the words of their General Authorities, than to read and believe on God’s Word, as written in the Bible.
Sadly, you’re 100% right. 🙁
My return missionary granddaughter wants to do some kind of Bible study with me….hallelujah. Her reason is, ‘I really don’t know the Bible’. That’s how the GAs, etc., keep rolling along. The people (I was one of them) don’t compare the Bom and the Bible b/c they only ‘study’ one of them with any sincerity.
Hallelujah – amen!!! We’re on our knees praying she’ll go thru w/ this! Isaiah 55:11 was the first thing that came to mind – His word never comes back void. 🙂
That’s awesome Sandra…I’ve heard many ex-mormon stories say it was the Bible that brought them out of the LDS church. So this is a great start.🙂
Thank you a thousand times. I have prayed for this for a long time. Thank you for the Isaiah ref!
You’re welcome! Keep us updated on how we can pray!
I will keep you posted. She is a new wife, works f/t and plans to take a few classes…..so we will see how the Lord schedules this. I pray that her husband isn’t concerned about this b/c, of course, he knows I am no longer mormon. The Bible, the Bible, the Bible….is there anything sweeter?
Absolutely nothing is sweeter!
