Matthew 23:12 “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”
Mr. Whitney’s comment about their future greatness was rather blunt, however, the same concept is still being touted today in the LDS Church. They do this by claiming they’re ‘the one and only true church on the face of the earth’.
While speaking to a neighbor the other day she told me she became skeptical of the Church’s claim while at university. One of her classes (world religion) opened her eyes to the lies of the Church. The LDS doctrine she was referring to was a false prophecy by Joseph Smith.
Here’s what he said on November 1, 1831 —
Doctrine and Covenants 1:30 “And also those to whom these commandments were given, might have power to lay the foundation of this church, and to bring it forth out of obscurity and out of darkness, the only true and living church upon the face of the whole earth—”
Smith’s brazen lies were a ruse to confuse. Pray for LDS members to think about his lie and turn to God’s word where they’ll find only truth!
With Love in Christ —
Michelle
