‘He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.’ Psalms 101:7
Avoid speculation or interpretation when teaching. “The Holy Ghost will reveal the spirit of truth only as we are cautious and careful not to go beyond teaching true doctrine. One of the surest ways to avoid even getting near false doctrine is to choose to be simple in our teaching.” — Henry Eyring

2 Corinthians 11:3 “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”

Like the other talks we’ve looked at we have a few questions/comments about Mr. Eyring’s talk.
1.Alma supposedly lived 90 years before Jesus was born making it impossible for him to know about any so-called ‘doctrine of Christ’.
2.Mr. Eyring made it sound as if Satan only tempts the families of LDS members. Doesn’t everyone go through temptation at some point?
3.Why shouldn’t teachers interpret what they’re teaching? Why would they have to be told not to teach anything but true doctrine?
4.What exactly does it mean to ‘avoid even getting near false doctrine’?
5.How does someone choose to be simple in their teaching?
Mr. Eyring’s talk is another way the Church dumbs its members down by controlling what they think and do. In other words, this is typical cult behavior.
Pray for Jesus to intervene in each life of those affected!
With Love in Christ —
