October 28 — Conference Quote: Divine Natures Can Make Us Gods. ChurchNews.com “For Latter-day Saints, the truth that everyone is a child of God is not metaphorical. “We truly believe that we are all literally the children of God.” …

During the Savior’s 40-day fast, Satan tried to tempt Him three times.

October 25 — Conference Quotes: Follow the Prophet, pt.2. Yesterday we posted that we were going to look at two other talks from this last GC but after looking at the lineup we’re adding to our list.

October 20 — Conference Quote: Who is the Church? General Conference, “This Is My Gospel”—“This Is My Church”, October 2024 “…the Lord’s Church was not a location or a building, nor is it today. The Church is simply ordinary people, disciples of Jesus Christ, gathered and organized into a divinely appointed structure that helps the Lord accomplish His purposes. …

Without His Church, there is no authority, no preaching of revealed truths in His name, no ordinances or covenants, no manifestation of the power of godliness, no transformation into who God wants us to become, and God’s plan for His children is set at naught.” — Dale G. Renlund (more…)

General Conference, ‘In the Space of Not Many Years’, October 2024 “Allowing pride to enter into our hearts can cause us to mock that which is sacred, disbelieve in the spirit of prophecy and revelation, trample under our feet the commandments of God, deny the word of God, cast out, mock, and revile against the prophets, and forget the Lord our God. … Apostasy can occur to institutions and individuals…

At the institutional level, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will not be lost through apostasy or taken from the earth. … If you or I believe we are sufficiently strong and stalwart to avoid the arrogance of pride, then perhaps we already are suffering from this deadly spiritual disease. … In the space of not many days, weeks, months or years, we might forfeit our spiritual birthright for far less than a mess of pottage.” — David A. Bednar (more…)
