Keeping Commandments Brings Forgiveness

‘The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.’ John 1:29

March 5 — Keeping Commandments Brings Forgiveness. The Miracle of Forgiveness, p. 201 “Keeping God’s Commandments Brings Forgiveness…In his preface to modern revelation, the Lord outlined what is one of the most difficult requirements in true repentance. For some it is the hardest part of repentance, because it puts one on guard for the remainder of his life. The Lord says:—I the Lord cannot look upon sin with the least degree of allowance; Nevertheless, he that repents and does the commandments of the Lord shall be forgiven. (D&C 1:31-32.)” — Spencer Kimball, 1969. [emp. added]

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

If the yoke of Jesus is light why would this so-called prophet state the hardest part of repenting would put someone on guard?

Why would you repeat Joe Smith’s lies that keeping the commandments brings forgiveness when Jesus alone brings forgiveness? Mark 2:7, 1 John 1:9.

If the Church wants to claim God’s word is translated incorrectly they should toss it out altogether. Article of Faith 1:8

The Bible is about Jesus and points to Christ and Him crucified. His death brought life not burdens! 2 Timothy 1:10

As per the Church’s m.o. they’ve all but denounced Kimball’s book in recent years while using parts of it on their site.

They can denounce it all they want but the truth is that they still hold true to its precepts.

Remind the Mormon you know that keeping the commandments doesn’t bring forgiveness, it brings judgment – there are 613 laws – are they keeping all of them?

James 2:10 “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”

Please pray they see this as bad news which isn’t good at all, but the gospel literally means good news!
