God’s Plans Revealed Only Through Prophets

December 21 — Journal of Discourses 10:258 – 259 “God is managing the affairs of all nations, and He has made known his will and pleasure to his servants the Prophets; He has given unto them the Everlasting Gospel, which they have received by the principle of revelation, and can by that means draw aside the curtain of futurity, and contemplate events as they are rolling forth, and understand the designs of Jehovah in relation to them; and these men have been sent forth to tell the people of all nations the things that are coming on them.” — John Taylor, delivered in the Tabernacle, Great Salt Lake City, October 10, 1863.

_____

Deuteronomy 18:22 “When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.”

_____

Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”

_____

2 Peter 2:1-2 “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.”

Mr. Taylor stated their god has made known future events so we’re wondering why this god missed vitally important issues that affected the Church?

Why didn’t he warn them that polygamy would be illegal?

Why didn’t he warn them the racist doctrine they espouse is unbiblical?

Why didn’t he warn them before they got kicked out of NY, OH twice, MO, and IL?

For more info on each location see the Church’s article, From New York to Utah. Mind you, the Church’s spin on their whereabouts is a far cry from reality.

Pray for Mormons to see the truth about their church and turn to the Lord for their salvation and not their lies of their leaders. Although Mr. Taylor made these claims 162 years ago, they’re still telling similar tales today.

Finally beloved, share with a Mormon that the Lord speaks to each of us through His word (2 Timothy 3:16-17), our conscience (1 Timothy 1:5), through His Son (Heb. 1:1-2) and His Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14, 8:26-27).

We don’t need someone claiming they’re the sole mouthpiece for God to know what His will is for us!

After I published this I forgot to mention Jeremiah 29:11 where the Lord says He knows the thoughts He has for you.

Moreover, the entire Bible refutes that prophets are the only people that reveals His will for us!

With Love in Christ —
