LDS Apostle: Do Your Best to Keep Holy Ghost

“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” — Hebrews 13:5 [emp. added]

ChurchNews.com “Elder Gary Stevenson said – “The Holy Ghost is your constant companion who assists and supports you at all times. To keep Him, you must pray and obey. He will protect you and bless you if you do your best.”

John 14:16-17 “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” [emp. added]

Today’s post stems from an email I received from the Church a couple of weeks ago. Mr. Stevenson lied.

How can the Holy Ghost be your constant companion if he can leave if you sin?

Every man, woman and child is born with a sin nature –

Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned”.

Furthermore, God’s Holy Spirit doesn’t “protect you and bless you if you do your best”.

Doing your best will never be enough. Hence the reason for needing the biblical Jesus.

Once you’ve done this everything changes.

True Christians know that have accepted the biblical Jesus will always have a sin nature; however, their everyday life will show they walk with the Lord. Galatians 5:18-26.

To reiterate what Jesus said, God’s Holy Spirit will be with you forever! Also see John 14:23-26.

My heart is heavy reading what this man said because the majority of LDS members will never know the truth. My mother is a good example of this.

Please, pray for members of the Church to see the truth and turn to Jesus!

With Love in Christ —

Michelle
