Mormon Priesthood Enlarges the Soul
It’s sad to me they don’t read their bibles and when they do they’re not sure which parts are true because again, they’ve been taught and believe, it’s been mistranslated.
Think about this for a moment…how frustrating it must be to live a life not knowing whom or what to trust. Your entire life, everything that defines you as you, is wrapped up into a culture and lifestyle that promotes confusion and mistrust.
Today’s dilemma is a classic example of this scenario. You read the Bible and want to believe it, but the Sunday school teacher told you to be wary because Joseph Smith said so. The Bible is replete with directions of telling us to be humble, yet here we are with another teaching from a false apostle who tells them otherwise. How do you go about reconciling this within yourself?
Aaronic Priesthood, pg. 116-117; “The gospel of Jesus Christ serves to make bad men good and good men better. We are magnified by the word and the power. Priesthood enlarges the soul and ennobles our natures. It “administereth the gospel and holdeth the key of the mysteries of the kingdom, even the key of the knowledge of God.” (D&C 84:19.) And, finally, “all they who receive this priesthood receive me, saith the Lord.” (D&C 84:35.)” – Oscar McConkie
Matthew 23:12; “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”
The only “thing” that makes any of us better is the work of the Holy Spirit within us.
“I must decrease so He can increase” – John 3:30.
