Jesus’ Blood not Efficient

Journal of Discourses 7:299; “We may talk of men being redeemed by the efficacy of his [Christ’s] blood; but the truth is that that blood has no efficacy to wash away our sins. That must depend upon our own action.” – Amasa M. Lyman, Salt Lake City, December 25, 1859

Hebrews 9:20-22; “This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you. 21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. 22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”

Honestly people… 

If God’s sacrifice of His Son isn’t good enough for you then why do you call yourself a Christian???  It seems like a lot of work to push your own agenda of salvation in addition to putting on a façade of pseudo Christianity. Why not cling to and promote one or the other? As Jesus said, “let your yes be yes and your no be no”…
