God Fell to Become Adam

Orson Pratt “Minutes of the Meeting of the Council of the Twelve in Historian’s Upper Room,” April 5, 1860, 10 a.m; “I have heard brother Brigham say that Adam is the Father of our spirits, and he came here with his resurrected body, to fall for his own children; and I said to him, it leads to an endless number of falls, which leads to sorrow and death: that is revolting to my feelings, even if it were not sustained by revelation.”

Isaiah 40:25, 28; “To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. 28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.”

Isn’t the book of Isaiah incredible? I know, I know, I was saved over 22 yrs ago and you’d think I’d not be so shocked by God’s word, but even now, I still am. 

Did you see what God said? He doesn’t faint or get weary! This means it’d be impossible for God to ‘fall’ like Adam did. 

Have you ever noticed in Mormon doctrine how Smith took every single doctrine of God and turned it on its proverbial head? The man sure was gutsy and left nothing alone. Even Mr. Pratt doubted what they said, yet he just kept putzin’ along profaning God’s holy name with the same idolatrous teachings that Smith and Young did.
