John 5:24; “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
Matthew 23:11-12; “But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”
There’s much to be said of those who disagree with the Lord. Making derogatory remarks against people who leave Mormonism to follow Jesus speaks for itself. Smith had a knack for maligning those who disagreed with him and he’d stop at nothing to make his voice heard.
The two biblical verses we’ve listed here today are just a few of the places we can find strength in knowing we’ve done the right thing by denouncing Joseph Smith’s teachings, and following the Lord.
The verse from Matthew should give Mormons pause about the superiority complex they carry around.
There’s no greater assurance of our salvation than what Jesus Himself said in the gospel of John. When you follow Him, there is no condemnation! If you’ve recently left the Church, or if you’ve been out for decades like myself, take comfort in what Jesus has said.
