‘And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.’ 1 Corinthians 15:45
To be sure, I was more than a little surprised at the instructions of having little kids use dice to maneuver around a game board. As I mentioned in an article yesterday, one of the big no-no’s in Mormonism had always been the use of dice and cards. Once again, their rules have evolved to suit their purpose at hand.
Another interesting item came to my attention when one of our faithful readers sent an e-mail last night with a picture of an LDS temple, and a deck of cards depicting different doctrines of their church. Each card had a different marking from Hoyle type playing cards at the top – she mentioned they can be purchased on e-Bay for $6.99. Oh be still my heart…
With their contradictory behavior on that topic behind us, another issue was the brazen lies they’ve burdened these children with. For the sake of brevity we’re looking at just a few of the main things from this lesson. Here we go!
“The Apostle Paul taught that our bodies are temples (see 1 Corinthians 6:19). Here’s a game you can play to learn more. … Truths about Temples … Each temple is a house of the Lord…
How can each temple be a house of the Lord when you’ve just stated our bodies are temples?
Every day, people work to care for the outside of the temple and keep it nice….People clean the inside of the temples too! Workers and volunteers make sure everything is polished and neat….Temples are used to do Heavenly Father’s work.
The God of the Bible doesn’t reside inside buildings made of hands – Acts 7:48, 17:24.
Each body is a temple where that person’s spirit lives. The Holy Ghost can also be there. Ask someone to tell about a time they felt the Holy Ghost.
Why won’t they tell these precious children that God’s Spirit indwells every person who confesses His Son is God? And why pray tell, are they encouraging kids to conjure up goose-bump moments? Whatever feel good moment they may have experienced isn’t from the Lord when they don’t believe Jesus can’t indwell the believer. D&C 130:3
Case in point is the last example from their lesson –
We can keep our thoughts clean by reading, watching, and listening to things that invite the Holy Ghost.”
Whenever I come across lessons like this, my heart sinks with memories of what it was like always living in a state of confusion. Without enough life experience, self condemnation has easy access to take over impressionable minds.
In direct contrast to what the Church is teaching, you can run a simple search for the indwelling of Christ. When I did this I discovered more than 50 verses in the New Testament, so I’ve listed them below. I’m certain there are many more!
Please, share these with a Mormon, and let them know you’re praying!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
