This talk covered all the bases, if you will, for all the ‘isms’ you could possibly use showing how wrong Mormonism can be.
In it you’ll find contradictions, plagiarisms, anachronisms, and your everyday lies about salvation. The man who gave this talk is Mr. Terence Vinson, a General Authority in the ‘Presidency’ of the Seventy. He graduated with a Masters of Finance from Sidney University. As usual, for the sake of brevity we’re only looking at a couple of the key items. For more info, see General Conference, ‘True Disciples of the Savior,’ October 2019. One thing’s for certain, the man needs serious prayer, as do those who listened to him. Here we go!
“When the Savior and His gospel are the framework around which people build their lives, they can feel enduring joy. In Australia, the term “fair dinkum” means people are what they say they are — essentially, they do what they mean and they go “all in” when they say they are committed.
In the game of rugby, players find the greatest enjoyment of the game when they play their hardest and give their all by playing their best. The same is true in life and with the gospel. “Giving our all doesn’t mean that we will be continually enveloped in blessings or always have success. But it does mean that we will have joy.””
Hold on a minute here!
He’s already contradicting himself by stating they have enduring joy, and then saying they won’t always be enveloped in blessings.
First of all, Dictionary.com defines the word enduring as ‘lasting; permanent’. Secondly, isn’t the joy of the Lord who’s my strength, a blessing?
This man is just talking to fill up airtime, and lines on a piece of paper. … Sadly, he also stated God only looks at our sacrifices…
“It is the sacrifices and efforts of each individual that matter most to the Lord, not their successes.”
Isaiah 64:6 tells us our works are as filthy rags. Our efforts are of little consequence, and quite frankly, downright insulting to our Lord whose sacrifice is everything.
“The story of King Lamoni’s father in the Book of Mormon is an example of someone becoming a true disciple of Christ by changing their attitude and framework to center on the Savior. When the king feared losing his life, he offered as much as half his kingdom to have his life spared.”
1.You can read about this in Alma 20:23, but the real question is how could he be a disciple of Christ in BC 90? Jesus wasn’t even born yet! Furthermore…
2.The story of a king giving up to half his kingdom is another example of how Smith stole from the Bible. There are two kings in the Bible that offered half their kingdom – King Ahasuerus in Esther 5:3, and King Herod in Mark 6:21-23.
“But later, when he understood the gospel, he offered to forsake his whole kingdom, even all he had, to receive the joy of the fulness of the gospel. “He was fair dinkum about the gospel.””
Now we have Mr. Vinson quoting this king who lived 90 years before Jesus, who also plagiarized Paul’s letter to believers in Philippi c. 52-55 AD.
Philippians 3:7-8 “But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ”.
“…being half-hearted is not being fair dinkum! And God is not known for showering praise on the lukewarm.”
If that’s true Mr. Vinson, please explain baptisms for the dead.
“Nothing on earth is more precious than eternal life. The Savior committed absolutely in His sacrifice to bring about eternal life for the children of the Lord. Don’t put off a total commitment to the Lord. “Get fair dinkum now and feel the joy!””
Again, these are but fluff words to fill up space. The Mormon Jesus didn’t pay for all sins according to LDS doctrine. Remember, there’s no forgiveness for murder, apostasy, or blasphemy against the Mormon Holy Ghost.
Mr. Vinson is trying hard to garner attention from those who are higher up on their pyramid scheme. Don’t be fooled my friends! Be sure to ask the Mormon you know what they think of this King Lamoni quoting Jesus 90 yrs before His birth. Most importantly, ask them how this helps their daily walk with the Lord today.
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
