Mormon God Opens Door of Lies at General Conference

‘They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.’ Lamentations 3:23

General Conference, ‘There was Bread’, October 2020 “As we seek to become temporally prepared, we can face the trials of life with increased confidence. … The Lord does not expect us to do more than we can do, but He does expect us to do what we can do, when we can do it. As President Nelson reminded us in our last general conference, “The Lord loves effort.” …The Lord has declared, ‘It is my purpose to provide for my saints’ [Doctrine and Covenants 104:15]. This revelation is a promise from the Lord that He will provide temporal blessings and open the door of self-reliance. …” — W. Christopher Waddell

Matthew 6:33-34 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

Mr. Waddell’s talk was a stark reminder of the hopelessness Mormons face with their god. Two vastly different messages came from Mr. Waddell’s mouth –

1.The Mormon god provides for them.

2.Mormons need to be self-reliant.

If LDS members need to be self-reliant, what purpose does their god serve? Having basic supplies on hand is far different from what the LDS Church teaches.

Furthermore, as Melissa noted in her article the other day, we’re wondering why they use the Bible if they only rely on themselves…

When you have an opportunity, share at lease one of the verses below with the Mormon you know! Each reminds us to rely on Him, and be thankful for His provision.

Matthew 6:11, 25, 33
Give us this day our daily bread…

1 Peter 5:7
Cast all your cares…

Philippians 4:6
Be anxious for nothing…

Luke 12:22
Do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear.

Luke 10:41
Martha, Martha…you are worried and upset about many things.

Matthew 6:25-27

Do not worry about your life…Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

Lamentations 3:23

They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
