LDS Singles Told to be ‘Valiant’ – aka Married

Church News, ‘Hope in Christ’, April 2021 “The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles have counseled together in a spirit of prayer and with a yearning to understand how to help all who feel alone or feel they don’t belong. We long to help all who feel this way. Let me mention, in particular, those who are currently single.

Brothers and sisters, more than half of adults in the Church today are widowed, divorced, or not yet married. Some wonder about their opportunities and place in God’s plan and in the Church. We should understand that eternal life is not simply a question of current marital status but of discipleship and being “valiant in the testimony of Jesus.”8 …

For many years, we have talked about “young single adults,” “single adults,” and “adults.” Those designations can be administratively helpful at times but can inadvertently change how we perceive others.

Is there a way to avoid this human tendency that can separate us from one another? … Let us call upon our members who are single to serve, lift, and teach. Disregard old notions and ideas that have sometimes unintentionally contributed to their feelings of loneliness and that they do not belong or cannot serve.” — M. Russell Ballard

Revelation 19:7-9 “Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. 9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.”

We’re praying LDS members will see the deception in Mr. Ballard’s message. While reassuring them to be valiant, he also referenced a prophecy by Joseph Smith who stated that unmarried folks won’t experience true salvation because they’re not valiant. See reference listed below.

Truly, this man is as deceitful as they come. Hiding behind Joe Smith’s rules are Mr. Ballard’s cowardly lies. Is he telling people to disregard their founder? It’d be odd considering Hyrum Smith (Joe’s brother) was Ballard’s great-grandfather. …

Besides all that, believers in Christ are married already. They’re married to the Bridegroom Jesus.

Please come alongside us to pray that Mormons will see the truth, and for Jesus to guard their hearts!

With Love in Christ —

Michelle

1 Cor. 1:18

8 Doctrine and Covenants 76:79 “These are they who are not valiant in the testimony of Jesus; wherefore, they obtain not the crown over the kingdom of our God.”

Update: I misspoke and said it was Mr. Holland (Jeffrey) in my article and I should have said Mr. Ballard.
