LDS are Servants of Corrupt Leaders

July 1 — LDS are Servants of Corrupt Leaders. 2 Peter 2:19-22 “While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. 20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.”

Members of the LDS Church find much comfort in being told what they must do, and when. Melissa and I were discussing their predicament the other day, and remembered all too well what it was like not questioning anything we were told.

This type of life is dangerous indeed beloved. It leaves absolutely no room for the Lord to speak, and teach truth into the heart. Case in point is the LDS reference today.

Ask the Mormon you know for their opinion about the false teaching below.

Friend, ‘Friend to Friend’, February 1971 “Baptism is not just a custom in our Church. It is something we do because the Lord commands it. Baptism is as old as the gospel. Adam was baptized, and by immersion… It was Jesus who gave us baptism. He gave it to Adam, and he gave it to all of us who have lived since that time. … It is when we are baptized that our Heavenly Father allows Jesus’ suffering to pay for our sins. In this way we receive forgiveness through baptism.” — Mark E. Petersen
