Journal of Discourses 9:376 “…To return to the subject of the garments of the Holy Priesthood, I will say that the one which Jesus had on when he appeared to the Prophet Joseph was neat and clean, and Peter had on the same kind, and he also had a key in his hand. John also came and administered unto Joseph Smith, and remember that Peter, James and John hold the keys pertaining to their dispensation and pertaining to this, and they came and conferred their Priesthood and authority upon Joseph the Seer, which is for the gathering together of all who seek the way of life.” — Heber C. Kimball, February 9, 1862, remarks made in the Tabernacle, Great Salt Lake City.

In light of our Mormon reference today we have a few questions/comments about the things Mr. Kimball had to say.
1.Why was Jesus wearing temple garments? At the time Jesus was living priests were the only people who were authorized to wear robes, and they only did so while in the temple.
2.Neither Jesus, Peter, James nor John held the priesthood so they couldn’t have passed it down to Joe Smith. Aaron and his direct descendants were the only people allowed to be priests. Exodus 28:1.
3.The Bible says that everyone will see and know when Jesus returns – Rev. 1:7.
Why was Smith the only person in the whole world that saw Jesus’ return?
4.Exactly when and where did all these people appear to Smith?
5.If Jesus did appear to Joe, this would mean He had returned several times. 1 in the grove of trees, 2 when he appeared this time, three when he appeared in the Kirtland temple and four when Jesus appeared to the Nephites in the BoM.
Mr. Kimball’s story is absolutely not true. His claims are wrong on many levels.
When you have an opportunity share this info with a Mormon and ask what they believe about this!
