Dallin Oaks: Heavenly Jesus Still Trying to Save

‘When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.’ John 19:30

 Two comments by Dallin Oaks at General Conference serve as a reminder the Church isn’t following the true Jesus of the Bible. Our reference today was retrieved this from the Church’s Facebook page on the weekend of General Conference. See Dallin Facebook Video, or ‘Trust in the Lord’ video and transcript, for more info.

“Today at general conference I discussed what we know about the spirit world. I also shared that we should be cautious to not speculate about things we do not know.

That comment is a heads up! Mr. Oaks should’ve taken his own advice, alas, he chose instead to ‘teach for doctrine the commandments of men’ as it says in Mark 7:7.

‘What we do know about the spirit world is that the Father’s and the Son’s work of salvation continues there. Our Savior initiated the work of declaring liberty to the captives, and that work continues as worthy and qualified messengers continue to preach the gospel, including repentance, to those who still need its cleansing effect.’

The Bible teaches just the opposite of what Mr. Oaks proclaimed.

Beloved, while Jesus was still hanging on the cross at Calvary, His last three words were, ‘It Is Finished’. If you’ve read what led up to the events of that day His words are self-explanatory.

Mr. Oaks further elaborated on Joe Smith’s speculations even though he just told people not to speculate about these things…

‘This is all made possible because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. As we know from modern revelation, He “glorifies the Father, and saves all the works of his hands” (Doctrine and Covenants 76:43)…”

The Lord has told us that today is the day of salvation in 2 Corinthians 6:2. Moreover, it also tells us there’s no such thing as baptisms for the dead – 1 Corinthians 15:29.

Mr. Oaks should practice what he preaches! Pray for people like my mother who listened to this man’s deceitful teachings!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
