Why Does the Church Need 17 More Temples?

November 2 — Why Does the Church Need 17 More Temples? The Prophet Announces 17 New Temples at the October 2024 General Conference “The Church of Jesus Christ now has 367 houses of the Lord operating, announced or under construction.”

“Why are we building temples at such an unprecedented pace?” asked the prophet, who has announced 185 temples — more than half of all temples in the Church — since 2018.

“Why? Because the Lord has instructed us to do so. The blessings of the temple help to gather Israel on both sides of the veil. These blessings also help to prepare a people who will help prepare the world for the Second Coming of the Lord!”

Latter-day Saints consider each temple to be a house of the Lord and the most sacred places of worship on the earth.

The primary purpose of temples is for faithful members of the Church to receive peace, inspiration, and spiritual power as they enter into sacred agreements with God in His holy house.” — Church News

Ezekiel 13:2-3 “Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD; 3 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!”

We have a few questions/comments about the 17 new temples Mr. Nelson announced at the October GC.

1.The Bible tells us God’s HS resides inside the believer so why would anyone need a temple to find peace? 1 Cor. 3:16, 6:19.

2.Nelson stated that God told him to build more temples to gather Israel on both sides of the veil. Dead people are just that. Dead. Jesus told us in Luke 16:19-31 those who’ve died can’t interact with the living.

3.How do all these temples ‘help prepare people for the 2nd Coming of the Lord’?

4.Other than lining the pockets of the Church while excluding the average member of the Church what purpose does all this serve?

5.The Bible also tells us we shouldn’t be baptizing dead people in 1 Cor. 15:29, and Jesus also said there are no marriages in heaven in Mark 12:25.

It seems that Nelson is trying to do as much damage as he possibly can.

Please pray for anyone who listened to this guy and ask Jesus into their hearts!

With Love in Christ —
