LDS Temples
We’re asking our readers to look at the list for the closest temple near you and pray for the people that visit the temple in your geographical area. Also pick out a temple that isn’t close to you and pray for that one as well. Pray for your schools, the Mormon and non-Mormon children that will surely interact with each other and pray God will tear down the walls of lies put up by the evil one.
Let us know which temples you’ve chosen to pray for and we’ll post all the cities we come up with! This is a great way to actually see God at work and is encouraging to see God at work in our hearts and lives!
The number of temples has more than tripled since 1990. As of August 2011 there were 135 temples in operation with another 15 under construction. In addition to that there are also 16 more temples under consideration of future builds and 6 more recently proposed, bringing the total to 172.
Mormon prophet Thomas Monson told the audience in the conference;
“No Church-built facility is more important than a temple,” explained President Thomas S. Monson in announcing plans for six new temples. “Temples are places where relationships are sealed together to last through the eternities.”

For the Mormon there is no true salvation without going through the temple and taking the sacred oaths. Without the temple there is no godhood or forever families in heaven.
Encyclopedia of Mormonism, pg. 1444;
“The ordinances performed only in the temple are baptisms for the dead, washings and anointings, endowments, and marriages or sealings for eternity. The privilege of entering the House of the Lord, the temple, and participating in its ordinances is a spiritual apex of LDS religious life…Temple ordinances are instruments of spiritual rebirth. In the words of President David O. McKay, they are the “step-by-step ascent into the eternal presence.” Through them, and only through them, the powers of godliness are granted to men in the flesh (D&C 84:20-22).”
In 2008, first counselor of the Relief Society, Silvia H. Allred, told readers of the Liahona and Ensign magazines how essential it is for members to be found worthy so they could enter the temple and do their works and “enjoy the blessings” of going to the temple.
““The temple is the house of the Lord. He directs the conditions under which it may be used, the ordinances that should be administered, and the standards that qualify us to enter. … Personal worthiness is an essential requirement to enjoy the blessings of the temple. We prepare by obeying the commandments and seeking to do God’s will” (“Holy Temples, Sacred Covenants,” Liahona and Ensign, Nov. 2008, 113).”
Sadly, less than ten percent of Mormons will ever qualify or live righteously enough to enter those temples to perform works for the dead or to having sealing ordinances performed for their families. My mother is one of the majority of Mormons who will never step foot in a temple even though she dutifully pays the ten percent of her gross income and serves as a home teacher. Why you ask? My mother’s not married to an active Mormon and this fact disqualifies her from participation. My heart breaks for her in the constant tug of war she lives through each day of her life.
Believing she loves Jesus and wanting to serve and please him, she lives on that proverbial hamster wheel of never getting to her goal because her works aren’t ever enough to please the god of Mormonism. She is always, and I do mean always, exhausted. I recall that at my brother Phil’s funeral in 1992 she and one of her cousins stood in a corner of the funeral parlor making arrangements for him to do Phil’s temple work a year later because she had no temple recommend.
When I think of Mormonism, that scenario plays through my mind every time. The endless works, the secret not sacred oaths, the Masonic emblems etched in stone that have occultic meanings behind them and my mother’s tired face are all hallmarks of this works for salvation religion.
Sadly the untrue remarks made by LDS leaders give members a false sense of security. One of the General Authorities, Gary Stevenson said;
“You are never lost when you can see the temple. The temple will provide direction for you and your family in a world filled with chaos. It is an eternal guidepost which will help you from getting lost in the ‘mist of darkness.'”

What about Jesus? What about His promise of the Holy Spirit who will guide you when you’ve accepted God’s Son into your heart? John 14:14-18, 23-27;
“If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”
“Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.
25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
And what about the words of Luke in Acts 7:48 and 17:24; do they not mean anything?
“Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet.”
“God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands.”
Now these examples are but just a few from the Bible that tells us God doesn’t live inside manmade buildings today, rather He lives inside the believer! Are all of these verses and passages mistranslated?
And interestingly enough I found a false prophecy on the Church’s official website giving a list of all the temples. The very first temple they list on this site is Independence, Missouri.
There is no temple in Independence and never has been. Joseph Smith claimed that God commanded them to build a temple there, but no such temple was ever built and to date (November 10, 2011) the only thing on that piece of property is a plaque in the ground resembling that of a gravestone, marking the place where the temple was supposed to be built. They refer to this as the “Temple Lot”.

The third temple they list is the Far West Temple in Kansas City. Again, no temple was ever built.

The fourth temple listed is Adam-ondi-Ahman located in Spring Hill, Missouri. They believe this is where Adam was kicked out of the Garden of Eden. Again no temple is on that site.

Please, continue to pray for the Mormon people. I’m still convinced they love Jesus and have been misled. They are indeed worshipping another (false) christ. Matthew 24:24.
