LDS Needs Evil to Gain Salvation

Journal of Discourses 4:373 “I wish to tell you a truth; it is God’s truth; it is eternal truth: neither you nor I would ever be prepared to be crowned in the celestial kingdom of our Father and our God, without devils in this world. Do you know that the Saints never could be prepared to receive the glory that is in reserve for them, without devils to help them to get it? … Some of you may think that this is a curious principle, but it is true.” — Brigham Young, Great Salt Lake, June 28, 1857

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Dictionary.com defines the word saint as ‘a person of great holiness’. We found it interesting Brigham was so fixated on making sure members of the Church knew they needed evil in life if they wanted true salvation.

Six months before Brigham gave the speech noted above (November 1856), he gave a similar talk reminding everyone the LDS Gospel Prepares Members to Become Devils.

If Mormonism was truly from our Lord wouldn’t He want believers to shun evil, and become more like Him? His word tells us that He’s a holy, Sovereign God which obviously means He has no needs.

Although it may seem this talk is a relic from the past, all of Mormonism is built upon the same principle. This doctrine can be seen throughout their teachings, and canon as well.

Pray for Mormons to turn from the witchcraft, and rely upon the Only True God of the Bible!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle
