Journal of Discourses 4:76-77 “We have in our community the worst creatures that the world can produce; the Gospel net must gather them of necessity, or the saying of Jesus, and what he knew of the kingdom in the last day would not come to pass. There are as bad men and women within the pales of this Church as there are upon this earth, and the Gospel being preached to them prepares them to become devils. As you have frequently been told, that is the only way men can become devils…” — Brigham Young, Great Salt Lake, November 9, 1856
2 Corinthians 5:17-18 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation…”
Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
John 17:17 “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.”
As you can see in our Bible references above, the outcome of the Lord’s gospel is far different than Mr. Young’s.
If the LDS gospel readies people to become devils, what happened to Jesus, the very namesake of their church?
Pray for members to evaluate what they’re spiritually ingesting, and for our sweet Lord to strengthen the resolve to accept Him, not Brigham’s god.
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
Was Brigham referring to himself and Joe?
Hey, Brigham, before you talk about all these bad people running around, take a look at yourself. Remember what God said about people like you?
“But we are all as an unclean thing, and our righteousness are as filthy rags and we all do fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”(Isaiah 64:6)
