Okay folks, God is stretching me!
I’m posting info on an upcoming missions trip that Kirk is going on and we’re looking for your prayers and support. I am never a fan of asking for financial support because of my pride so this is a real life faith thing going on for me personally!
For the past decade or so Kirk and I have sponsored many HIV infected children in Ethiopia via World Vision and have been blessed many times over by seeing “our kids” live in healthy environments and are able to receive the gospel. In addition to that organization we also work alongside our home church in sponsoring kids and people from our church who serve in Los Cedros, Nicaragua through the organization Unidos. Unidos’ mission is to provide quality healthcare and educational needs to the poorest of the poor in Nicaragua.
With God’s nudging Kirk is going to Nicaragua in April of this year! One part of the trip is to help with construction within the local community where our sister church is located in Los Cedros. The other part of the mission is to provide a Men’s Conference for them and some of the other churches in neighboring communities.
Kirk is trying to raise $1,300 in support for the trip to offset travel expenses as well as funds needed for the work there. Any donations should be made out to our home church, Northshore Baptist Church, and mailed to our Life After Ministries address, P.O. Box 203, Woodinville, WA 98072.
He’ll be sure to give a report upon his return and we’ll be posting pictures!
While there isn’t an immediate need for warning the Christians about Mormonism in this area of Nicaragua Kirk’s been asked to give insight to others on the importance of only accepting the gospel that was given by the original apostles. I’m confident the Lord will be able to use his insight to share with these dear people so they’ll know the truth.
To give you an idea of what life is like in Nicaragua, here’s a little glimpse into their lives –
Nicaragua is the 2nd poorest country in the western hemisphere
45% of the Nicaraguan population lives on less than $2 per day
Approximately 40 per cent of the population has no access to health services (75 per cent for the indigenous and Afro-descendent population)
Average education level is 5.6 yrs and only 3.6 yrs in rural areas
4 out of ten kids enroll in high school and only 40% of those graduates
33% non-literacy rate overall throughout Nicaragua – the majority of Los Cedros falls into that category
You can get further info about Unidos here.
We’re thanking God for your prayers and support in this trip – we’re confident through our combined efforts the people in Nicaragua will be blessed with quality healthcare and having their educational needs met.
With Love in Christ;
Kirk & Michelle

Thank you Susan, I appreciate the prayer support. I’m looking forward to the trip and wondering what God has planned for us.
