March 31 — Evidence of Salvation. Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 297 “Salvation is nothing more nor less than to triumph over all our enemies and put them under our feet. And when we have power to put all enemies under our feet in this world, and a knowledge to triumph over all evil spirits in the world to come, then we are saved, as in the case of Jesus, who was to reign until He had put all enemies under His feet, and the last enemy was death.”

John 15:13-15 “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. 15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you”.
2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Once we are saved there are marked character changes. Some are less visible to the outside than others will be but for the most part those around you should be able to see that something has changed.
One of the determining markers should be humility. Just as Jesus told the disciples not to rejoice, they had power over the demons, but they should rejoice their names are written in the book of Life.
Luke 10:20 “Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.”
The disciples were on display for all of us to see the immaturity in their young new walk with the Lord and thankfully God allowed this to take place to teach each of us a lesson.
How many of us have done similar things in our new life in the Lord?
The thing to learn in today’s LDS reference is to not only look at the immaturity but to also look at the core teaching of this passage.
It’s not just that the Church is wrong about being humble. It’s also what they taught about Jesus.
They’ve made it sound like Jesus was saved because he learned to put all enemies under him.
Jesus wasn’t saved! Jesus is God!!! Jesus isn’t a created being who had to learn lessons in life folks. We are to learn from Him. In his humbleness He came here putting on human flesh so we could learn from Him, not the other way around!
True salvation means you’re saved. It has nothing to do with triumphing over petty things in life. It means you’ll be in the presence of Jesus!
Lastly my friends remember two more things –
1.Examine yourself 2 Corinthians 13:5 “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”
2.It’s impossible to be saved and doubt God’s word John 5:24 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
Please share with a Mormon that Smith’s logic was wrong!
With Love in Christ –
