Reasons Starting with N
Joseph Smith Chronology, pg. 228; “June 11, 1844 Joseph issues a proclamation stating that he has destroyed the Nauvoo Expositor, which he considered a nuisance (and therefore had the legal right to destroy, just as he would any nuisance).”
Psalm 73:3-8; “For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. 4 For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm. 5 They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. 6 Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment. 7 Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish. 8 They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.”
This is known as terrorism today.
Necromancy
Come Unto Christ, pg. 17; “Several years after Joseph Smith was martyred, he appeared to President Brigham Young. His message for the Saints at that time constitutes the theme of this chapter: “Tell the people to be humble and faithful, and be sure to keep the spirit of the Lord and it will lead them right. Be careful and not turn away the still small voice; it will teach you what to do and where to go; it will yield the fruits of the kingdom. Tell the brethren to keep their hearts open to conviction, so that when the Holy Ghost comes to them, their hearts will be ready to receive it.” (Manuscript History of Brigham Young, February 23, 1847.)” – Ezra Taft Benson
Deuteronomy 18:9-13; “When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. 13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.”
Evil, evil, evil.
Necromancy
Mormon Doctrine pg. 526; “Necromancy is that form of divination which attempts to foretell the future by consultation with the dead. Sometimes the term is enlarged to include magic in general. It is and has been a common practice among apostate peoples, but the Lord calls it an abomination and expressly commands Israel to avoid it. (Deut. 18:9-14.)”
Leviticus 20:6-8; “And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people. 7 ¶ Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God. 8 And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you.”
Note: Necromancy means what the LDS Church says it does. Ask your Mormon friend or loved one why Joseph Smith was talking with Moroni, a resurrected man that supposedly lived in the fifth century. Or why the Mormon people believe it’s all right to speak to their dead relatives.
Necromancy
“Seek the Spirit of the Lord”, Ensign, Apr. 1988, pg. 5; “Several years after Joseph Smith was martyred, he appeared to President Brigham Young. Hear his message:” ‘Tell the people to be humble and faithful, and be sure to keep the spirit of the Lord and it will lead them right. Be careful and not turn away the small still voice; it will teach you what to do and where to go; it will yield the fruits of the kingdom. Tell the brethren to keep their hearts open to conviction, so that when the Holy Ghost comes to them, their hearts will be ready to receive it.’ (Manuscript History of Brigham Young, 23 Feb. 1847, 2 vols., ed. Elden Jay Watson, Salt Lake City: Elden J. Watson, 1968, 1971, 2:529.)”The Lord has prospered this work and will continue to do so. He is close to His servants, even within whispering distance.”This latter-day work is spiritual. It takes spirituality to comprehend it, to love it, and to discern it. Therefore, seek the Spirit in all you do. Keep it with you continually. That is our challenge.”I pray that the Spirit of the Lord will be with each of you in your homes and families.” – Ezra Taft Benson
Isaiah 8:19-20; “And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? 20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.”
Apparently more than one of their leaders believed this and continue to do so. You cannot talk to dead people!
Necromancy
BYU Speeches of the Year, 1966, Elder Theodore M. Burton; “The greatest responsibility in this world that God has laid upon us is to seek after our dead. (Joseph Fielding Smith, Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 356.) The Prophet also said: This doctrine was the burden of the scriptures. Those saints who neglect it in behalf of their deceased relatives, do it at the peril of their own salvation. (Ibid., p. 193.)”
Luke 11:23: “He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.”
Jesus also told His disciples to let the dead bury their dead and to go out to preach the Kingdom of Heaven. You cannot save the dead.
Nephites Created Mayan Calendar
Signs of the Times, p.155; “The Nephites on this continent also had a clear understanding of the universe. Without question the great Mexican, or Mayan, calendar stone, is the development of the teachings of inspired leaders among the Nephites.” – Joseph Fielding Smith
Leviticus 18:21; “And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.”
Why would any God fearing man or woman claim any ties at all to anything the Mayans do?
Nephites Turn White
2 Nephi 30:6; “And then shall they rejoice; for they shall know that it is a blessing unto them from the hand of God; and their scales of darkness shall begin to fall from their eyes; and many generations shall not pass away among them, save they shall be a pure and a delightsome people.”
Psalm 5:9; “For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.”
This is an interesting verse. In my 1976 version of the Book of Mormon the latter part of the verse says “…save they shall be a white and delightsome people”.
Who has ever heard that white means pure or that pure means white?
New Jerusalem
D&C 84:2-3; “Yea, the word of the Lord concerning his church, established in the last days for the restoration of his people, as he has spoken by the mouth of his prophets, and for the gathering of his saints to stand upon Mount Zion, which shall be the city of New Jerusalem. 3 Which city shall be built, beginning at the temple lot, which is appointed by the finger of the Lord, in the western boundaries of the State of Missouri, and dedicated by the hand of Joseph Smith, Jun., and others with whom the Lord was well pleased.”
Revelation 21:1-2; “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”
As noted before the “temple lot” still sits empty of any temple. Additionally, the New Jerusalem won’t be anywhere near Missouri.
Noah is Gabriel
Encyclopedia of Mormonism pg. 1016; “Noah is one of God’s most notable prophets, Patriarchs, and ministering messengers. He became a second father-with adam-of all mankind following the Flood and later returned to earth as the angel Gabriel to announce the births of John the Baptist and Jesus Christ (HC 3:386; TPJS, p. 157). LDS revelation has amplified what is known about Noah in the Bible.”
Genesis 6:9; “These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.” (See Gen. 5:29-6:9 for full description of Noah’s identity.)
Nowhere in the Bible does it even suggest such a thing.
Noah, Multiple Identities of
Answers to Gospel Questions 3: 138-141; “Elias Is Noah…Summarizing the facts—Joseph Smith revealed that Gabriel was Noah; Luke declared that it was the angel Gabriel who appeared to Zacharias and Mary; and the Lord has declared that Elias appeared to Zacharias and Joseph Smith. Therefore, Elias is Noah.”
Holman Dictionary of the Bible; “The son of Lamech, a descendant of Adam in the line of Seth, and a survivor of the flood. A good and righteous man, Noah was the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth who were born when he was 500 years old.”
Luke 1:17-19; “And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. 18 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years. 19 And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.”
I had to read the Mormon teaching above several times before I finally gave up and realized it’s impossible to figure it out. This is just another way to confuse the members.
Noah Ordained into Priesthood
D&C 107:42; “Noah was ten years old when he was ordained under the hand of Methuselah.”
Genesis 2:1, 7; “Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”
My, the Church sure has a lot of extracurricular information on Noah.
