God Changes Not…or Does He?
Mormon 9:9-10; “For do we not read that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and in him there is no variableness neither shadow of changing? And now, if ye have imagined up unto yourselves a god who doth vary, and in whom there is shadow of changing, then have ye imagined up unto yourselves a god who is not a God of miracles.”
TPJS, pg. 345; “God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens! That is the great secret. If the veil were rent today, and the great God who holds this world in its orbit, and who upholds all worlds and all things by his power, was to make himself visible,—I say, if you were to see him today, you would see him like a man in form—like yourselves in all the person, image, and very form as a man; for Adam was created in the very fashion, image and likeness of God, and received instruction from, and walked, talked and conversed with him, as one man talks and communes with another.”
Malachi 3:6; “For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”
This is another example of what I use to witness to the Mormon missionaries. If God cannot change how did he become a god after being a man?
You ignorant, ignorant imposter of religion.
Your PROUD response of “how did he become a God after being a man” (He never changes) is childish, silly, and weak.
Before attacking, you need to learn more…a lot more.
That comment is just as stupid as saying: “If God was omnipotent…WHY CAN’T HE MAKE A ROCK HEAVIER THAN HE CAN LIFT?”
I’m going to say this to all of the Mormons that comment on this blog.
If you are rude and call names or tell someone (specifically me) that they’re stupid or unlearned one more time consider yourself cut off from commenting on this blog.
It’s one thing to disagree – I don’t care that you have your own opinion – happy you have one. HOWEVER, you’re on thin ice with this blog when you think it’s a Christian thing to do by attacking the character or integrity of others. If you don’t like this blog go somewhere else where you can sing the praises and worship Joseph Smith and company. Your comments and rude behavior further proves my point that Mormons hate Christianity and that Joseph went out of his way to disgrace God.
There are a lot of Christians who visit this blog and you’ve just showed them why they shouldn’t become a Mormon.
I’ve had just about enough of the male chauvinistic behavioral problem you guys seem to be plagued with.
Just because I don’t agree with you does NOT make me stupid.
If you can’t discuss things in a rational adult like manner go away.
Michelle
And another thing…God created ALL things. He is the Creator of Lucifer (before he became the devil, and He created Jesus Christ, making them brothers; just as He created you and me…making us brothers. You say we’re not like all other PROSTESTant religions. You’re right. This religion did not begin by “protesting” anything…like the PROTEST against the Roman Catholic Church and its cruelty to humanity. Did you even know that? You need to study and learn, my friend, before reaping the consequences of your actions. God and Jesus will not look favorably on those who try to destroy His (Their) works.
Remember this…when Jesus was on the earth, most considered him to be a cult figure and murdered him because of it. They stood face to face with Him and STILL murdered him. What makes you think you’re any better than they?
Dear Brother; It is most interesting that you posted Mormon 9:9-10 as your scripture reference that speaks of God having variableness . Please read verses 11-13 which explains the mission of Jesus Christ. I am a born-again spirit filled Christian and have read the Book of Mormon and cannot find anywhere in the book that says God was once a man and has variableness. 1Nephi 10:18; (2Nephi 27:23;29:9;Alma 31:17Moroni 10:7,19); 2Nephi2:4. These scriptures state that God (including Christ and the Holy Spirit) are indeed the same, yesterday, today and forever. I always like to back up my claims with scripture. Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) Please read the book of Mormon for yourself so you will get a clearer understanding of what it says. Please understand I am not here to antagonize you, or create dissension. I myself, desire to have a fuller understanding of what others believe. Thank you for my input. Love in Christ’s service;. Thomas Dickson
Wow… Lot’s of anger issues, Jon Lee?
1.) Your church teaches that God didn’t “create” ALL things. They teach that He and some others (great and noble spirits like Paul, Noah, Moses, and yes of course, Joseph Smith) “organized” existing matter. They teach that God couldn’t create something out of nothing.
My Bible reads, God said, “Let there be light, and there was light”…
2.) To say that God “created” Jesus is heresy.
3.) Michelle didn’t say anything about being Protestant… and yes we are all familiar with Martin Luther, probably more so than you.
4.) True that they killed Jesus for the crime of blasphemy (He stated that He was God) Jesus died in our place so that we wouldn’t have to pay the consequences of our sin… The difference is that Jesus is who He said He is.
BUT you didn’t listen to Michelle, so I doubt that you will read this since you have most likely been blocked from the site. Michelle actually showed a lot of restraint… I would’ve bounced you off after your first post.
Thomas
If you are a born-again spirit filled Christian, then why in the world, or I should ask “how in the world” are you defending the Book of Mormon???
You won’t find the strange doctrines of Mormonism in the Book of Mormon. You won’t find where God was once a man. You won’t find the teachings on Jesus being born to Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother in the Spirit World. (Yes, I wrote “Heavenly Mother”) Or the teachings about Jesus and Lucifer being spirit brothers (Jesus born first and Lucifer born second). You won’t find the teachings on polygamy (though you will find it in the B of M, the Lord says it is an abomination).
I could go on and on but honestly Michelle was a member of the LDS Church for decades… I was born into it and lived it for the first 26 years of my life. So please don’t ask us to read the B of M for ourselves. We have read it… studied it… been to seminary on it… and know everything there is to know about the religion of Mormonism.

I have some good material I can send you that I discovered in my grandmother’s LDS church books while researching the differences between Mormonism and Christianity.
