I try to be fair – I really do!
But tonight I just finished watching ABC News and their report on Mormonism. After a brief intro of how Joseph believed he saw the Father and the Son in a grove of trees, they posed three questions:
1. Why all the secrecy?
2. What do they believe?
3. What about Jesus?
So they answered that Mormons see all the temple rituals as being sacred, not secret.
As for the second question the Church said they love the Bible and see it as the word of God, but realize many have a problem with their other canon.
And as for the last question? Well this is where ABC truly dropped the ball and didn’t do their job as world class journalists. Their answer about Jesus was that after he appeared to those in Jerusalem he also went to those living here in America.
Oh yeah, they showed footage of one of the Mormon pageants with Lamanites running around in a circle crying out as if they were on a bad episode of Bonanza.
We’ll see what tomorrow brings.
