Christianity non-Existent Until Joe Smith
Journal of Discourses 2:192; “Every man that will read the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments, will see that there was an organization in the days of Jesus Christ, a system for the salvation of the children of men. It is laid down plainly and definitely for the inhabitants of the earth to follow. But, if we search throughout the earth at this day, we cannot find a system existing that has scarcely any resemblance to the example laid down by Christ and the Apostles. And I will here say that the persecution, opposition, and oppression that this Church has met with from its first organization, have been in a great measure in consequence of carrying out that very system, those very ordinances, that same Gospel which Jesus Christ and his Apostles established in their day, and which cost the most of them their lives.” – Wilford Woodruff, Salt Lake City, February 25, 1855
Philippians 1:6; “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
There are many passages in His word where Jesus promises us that He’ll never leave or desert us and that His church will always be in existence. John 14:16, 23; Matthew 16:18, et al.
The verse above from Paul is another example that what God has begun, He will finish. The body of Christ will exist until God says it’s time for it to cease, not when men says it stopped or it must stop. God’s Kingdom as we saw yesterday is run by Him, not us.
I’ve always wondered why Joseph Smith says the Bible is wrong while at the same time quoting extensively from it. How does that work?
If you claim there is no Christian church on earth it’s because you haven’t actively searched.
