Joseph isn’t Righteous
Words of Joseph Smith, May 21, 1843, pg 204; “I love that man better who swears a stream as long as my arm, and administering to the poor and dividing his substance, than the long smooth faced hypocrites. I don’t want you to think I am very righteous, for I am not very righteous. God judgeth men according to the light he gives them.”
2 Cor. 5:19, 21; “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
1. When it comes to the subject of righteousness the very first thing I think of as a Christian is Jesus. Jesus is the reason I’m found righteous and as a Christian I can rest easy knowing He secured that position for me. If you call yourself a Christian and you don’t think you’re righteous in God’s eyes, something’s wrong.
2. God judges men on whether or not he believes in His Son whom He sent.
3. God already gave us light. The light is His Son, not your intellect.
4. If your leader or teacher doesn’t know he’s righteous because of Jesus it’s time to find a new teacher.
