Jesus’ Crucifixion Brought Death & Disaster
3 Nephi 9:1-2; “And it came to pass that there was a voice heard among all the inhabitants of the earth, upon all the face of this land, crying: 2 Wo, wo, wo unto this people; wo unto the inhabitants of the whole earth except they shall repent; for the devil laugheth, and his angels rejoice, because of the slain of the fair sons and daughters of my people; and it is because of their iniquity and abominations that they are fallen!”
Yesterday we saw that darkness covered the earth for three days when Jesus died on the cross. Today we’re looking at the other events that took place while he was still hanging on the cross in Jerusalem.
During all that darkness the most violent natural disasters the earth has endured all occurred at the same time in the Americas.
Apparently Jesus found time to simultaneously leave the cross in Jerusalem because he wasn’t happy with the American Israelites, aka Nephites and came over here to chastise and execute judgment.
Thousands upon thousands of people were supposedly annihilated and the Mormon Jesus had no qualms about revealing that He was responsible for the horrible event. Fire, whole cities carried away in tornados, earthquakes causing land to be swallowed up and fall into the abyss,
Cities are filled with people, including children, and most certainly these cities held residents who believed in Jesus so why would he kill believers and little kids?
Conversely we see in the Bible that people came out of their graves and were given life! There’s no record of anyone being killed in natural disasters when Jesus died on the cross.
