Hawaiian Converts Prove Church is True
Juvenile Instructor Vol. 3, No. 18, October 1, 1868, pg 146; “One great evidence to the Latter-day Saints that the Sandwich Islanders are of the house of Israel is the success the Elders have had in preaching the gospel in their midst. Not that it is a sure rule that all those nations who have not received the gospel are not of the promised seed; for God has not as yet turned the key to some of them to obey the gospel. But when we see a people obey the everlasting gospel in great numbers, we have a right to consider that they are descended from those to whom the promises were given.”
2 Corinthians 11:13-14; “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”
There are a couple of things going on here so let’s take a look at them!
1. If converting a bunch of people proves the Church is true what does it say about all the “apostates” who are leaving? Does this mean the Church isn’t true?
2. Where in the Bible does it talk about a key that God turns when He wants someone to believe in Him?
3. There are more Muslims in the world than there are Mormons so does this mean Islam is true?
This type of teaching is nonsense!
