Sidney Rigdon: A Portrait of Religious Excess, Signature Books, SLC, 1994, p 57; “This stone, still retained by the First Presidency of the LDS Church, was the vehicle through which the golden plates were discovered and the medium through which their interpretation came.” – Richard S. Van Wagoner
Deuteronomy 18:10-11; “There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.”
We’re wondering…does the Church hold/hide this stone to keep it out of public view?
If it’s something that could help promote Smith’s message of a new gospel why isn’t it on display?
Upon reading God’s commandment to the Israelites when they went into Canaan we’re also wondering why the Church doesn’t abide by His righteous counsel. Is this why they don’t trust the Bible?
