Exodus 17:6; “Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.”
1 Corinthians 10:4; “And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.”

The Spiritual Rock of Israel … God has shown us that He fulfilled His promises by giving us the inspired writings of His people who wrote scripture in both the Old and New Testaments. While all of this is REAL simple, it’s SO cool!!!
With the way the LDS Church behaves, you’d think they missed the memo God sent to the world. A sign they’ve lied in our example today is seen in their vocabulary. They employ the same words Christians do, but they changed the meanings. Check out their definition of ‘the rock of heaven’. They say it’s Christ and this is where they should be getting their strength, yet they teach a ‘pull yourself up by the bootstraps’ and salvation by works system.

Mormon Doctrine, p 657; “Rock of Heaven – See CHRIST, LORD OF HOSTS, STONE OF ISRAEL. Christ is the Rock (Deut. 32:3-4, 18, 30-31; 1 Cor. 10:1-4), or the Rock of Heaven. (Moses 7:53.) Such name-titles carry a connotation of strength and stability (1 Sam. 2:2), as for instance when David exulted: “The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; The God of my rock, in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour.” (2 Sam. 22:1-4; 23:3; Psa. 18:1-3, 31.)” – Bruce R. McConkie
