Women of Mormondom, p. 191; “Brightest among these spirits, and nearest in the circle to our Father and Mother in heaven (the Father being Adam), were Seth, Enoch, Noah, and Abraham, Moses, David, and Jesus Christ-
These are the sons and daughters of Adam-the Ancient of Days-the Father and God of the whole human family. These are the sons and daughters of Michael, who is Adam, the father of the spirits of all our race. These are the sons and daughters of Eve, the Mother of a world.” – Eliza Roxcy Snow
Luke 17:1-2; “Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! 2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.”
The book from where this passage came from is one of the top five evil books in all of Mormonism, (IMHO).
In many ways my heart hurts for Eliza Snow. She was the sister of Lorenzo Snow (5th prophet), wife #20 for Joseph Smith and wife #10 for Brigham Young.
She had secured for herself a pretty solid position in the Church and allowed her head to be filled with the horrendous teachings these men employed. She honestly believed she was a priestess and would one day become a goddess as well. We can only blame the parents for teaching false doctrines for so long.
It’s obvious Eliza was literate and had access to a Bible, and it’s also evident her heart wasn’t willing to turn to God and forsake what she had been raised to believe.
Scary stuff.
