I went on a short holiday with my husband, Kirk, and upon my return home learned that a tireless warrior for Jesus had passed away.
I received an e-mail from Ed Decker telling me that Jim Spencer passed away unexpectedly, on Sunday evening. Jim had been in ministry for what seems like forever now (40+ yrs), and was a well respected member in the body of Christ. He was a prolific author and great orator.
I’ve frequently referred to his website when using his 1830 Book of Mormon Comparison Machine, and his reference books on the Mormon Temples; Whited Sepulchers: The Hidden Language of the Mormon Temple, and Mormonism’s Temple of Doom. These are definite must-haves when studying the meanings of the symbols on the outside of the temples!
Ed posted an article in his newsletter you can read here to get more info. We’re praying his wife Margaretta, their three daughters, and several grandkids will each know the Lord’s comfort during this time.
With Love in Christ;

Back around 2007-2008 I first began going to church when a friend invited me. I was also dating a Mormon girl at the same time. As I was digging deeper into the Bible, Christian apologetics, and simply trying to figure things out, I discovered Jim’s ministry. It helped me to not be persuaded by my then girlfriend’s Mormon arguments and stay grounded in the True Word. We obviously eventually broke up after we came to the realization our faith’s were completely incompatible and I committed myself to Christ.
But all the years later, I still remember Jim’s website and am so thankful to God that I found it when I did.
Wow – what a testimony you have! Unfortunately, my husband was dating a Mormon girl when he was 19 and was baptized in ’83. I met him a year later and he had already realized his mistake. SO grateful you were alerted to the truth!
