October 6 – The Promise of Miracles. Isaiah 35:4-6; “Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you. 5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. 6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.”

This prophecy was written c. 701-671 BC and saw its fulfillment in the ministry work of our Lord Jesus c. 27-30 AD.
While you still have this passage on your mind today, don’t just read it through and move on. Stop and think about how incredibly cool this is! We have a God who’s above all gods and performed miracles here on earth! Can you imagine the wonder and awe the Israelites must have experienced? After all those years, their promise had arrived.
On this side of the cross we see people get healed the world over because of His provision, and the best miracle of all is that His Holy Spirit lives inside each of us as believers. Every day of our lives can and should be filled with wonderment and awe. Remember the day you were saved? Let today be like that day all over again!
As you remember these things, and read about them in His word, pray for the Mormons who have just the opposite experience. They’ve been told they’re partakers of misery and woe. What kind of god promises such a thing?
