Doctrine and Covenants Student Manual, (2002), 139–140; “I calculate to be one of the instruments of setting up the kingdom of Daniel by the word of the Lord, and I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world. … It will not be by sword or gun that this kingdom will roll on: the power of truth is such that all nations will be under the necessity of obeying the Gospel.” (History of the Church, 6:364–65.)”
Luke 17:20-21; “And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”
Since Jesus was the only one who set up the Kingdom, why would Joe Smith prophesy he’d lay a foundation to revolutionize the world? Jesus did that 1,800 years before Smith came on the scene!
If you’re a true prophet of God in the NT era, why would you try to overshadow what God has already done?
Furthermore, how could Smith set up this kingdom ‘by the word of the Lord’ when he systematically denounced, trashed, and hated the Bible? See ‘The Bible; Why Joseph Smith Hated the Word of God’. Lest we forget, Smith also rewrote the Bible as well.
Remember the words of the wise King Solomon dear one. ‘There’s nothing new under the sun’. Smith’s ‘revolution’ was nothing but a remake of false teachings wrapped up with a shiny new bow. Ecclesiastes 1:9
Lastly, you’ll want to take note of where today’s reference came from so you’ll know what to pray – the student manual for the Doctrine and Covenants is written and designed for the youth who attend LDS Seminary. This means the audience consists of 14-18 yr old kids, and they’re teaching them that Smith set up the kingdom…shame, shame, shame…
