January 8 – In Luke 16:19-31 we find Jesus telling the Pharisees about the parable of Lazarus in the bosom of Abraham.

There are two subject matters in this section of scripture. The first is that of necromancy. You can’t send dead relatives to speak to the living. The second is understanding there are no second chances. Nowhere in the Bible does it teach that you have this option.

In D&C 128:5 Smith explains to readers they may think the order of death and then baptism may seem strange, but it was “ordained before the foundation of the world”. Ask if they find this confusing.
