January 2 – Who has the authority? Jesus told the people in Matthew 28:18-20 that all authority had been given to Him in heaven and earth. He then instructed us to go out and make disciples of all men.
_____
Christians know this scripture is the Great Commission. We are to go to all the nations and preach the Word of God. As the saying goes, ‘the great omission of the Great Commission is not obeying’. Why would Jesus tell people to go do this if it wasn’t going to work, or if He didn’t hold the keys? Someone is lying.

According to LDS theology “There is but one at a time who holds the keys and the right to receive revelation for the Church, and that man is the President of the Church”. Doctrines of Salvation 1:283.
Personally, I don’t believe that any of our GA’s are true prophets of God. All you have to do is sit through one General Conference to realize that these guys are not men specifically called of God. I believe the GA’s are good men in that are decent, law abiding, kind and loving people. They have simply fallen victim to religious traditions.”For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move. But all their works, they do for to be seen of men; they make broad their phylacteries and enlarge the borders of their garments and love the uppermost rooms at feasts.” (Matthew 23:4-6). Have you ever noticed during General Conference, that often times the GA’s will recite quotes from other GA’s more than they do Biblical scripture?
