Just what are the essentials of the Christian faith? The following scriptures are great to use with a Mormon! You can share them as examples for the basic beliefs found in Christianity, and what it takes to get saved! You’ll see there is nothing about focusing on temples, or believing a god that ‘just wants you to be happy’. The following list from GotQuestions.org, describes the essentials of Christianity as having a belief in the following:
Deity of Christ John 10:30, John 20:28; the Holy Trinity Matthew 28:19; Monotheism Isaiah 43:10
Salvation by Grace, not Works, Ephesians 2:8-9; through Christ Alone John 14:6, Acts 4:12
Jesus’ Resurrection 1 Corinthians 15:14
The Gospel 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Galatians 1:8-9
Faith Hebrews 11:1

“What Will You Choose?”; “You know that God is your Father. He loves you. He wants you to be happy. Put your trust in Him (see 2 Nephi 4:34; 28:31). Maintain your focus on His holy temple. Be worthy to receive your endowment and sealing ordinances. Remain faithful to those covenants, and return frequently to the temple. Remember, your loftiest goal is to gain the greatest of all the blessings of God, that of eternal life (see D&C 14:7). Temple ordinances are essential for that blessing (see D&C 131:1–3).” — Russell M. Nelson
Therefore BEING JUSTIFIED BY FAITH, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. By whom also, WE HAVE ACCESS BY FAITH INTO HIS GRACE, wherein we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” (Romans 5:1,2)

“For if Abraham were justified by works (tithe, temple, sacrament attendance, callings, church cleanup etc), he hath wherefore to glory, BUT NOT BEFORE GOD. For what sayeth the scripture, Abraham believed god and it was counted unto him as righteousness.” (Romans 4:2,3)
:”Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the DEEDS of the Law.” (Romans
The Mormon church emphasizes works in order to allow the church to prosper. What saith God, however? “Not be might, nor by power, but by my spirit , saith the Lord of Hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6)
Go to a Mormon sacrament meeting and see if you can “Feel the Spirit” The Bishop, SP, always talk about”feeling the spirit”.. Personally, I have never felt the spirit of God at a sacrament meeting. I don’t thing God’s spirit is there and that why the Mormons have to task people with works in order for the church to thrive
