Worldwide Devotional, ‘Doubt Not, but Be Believing,’ January 2019 “Doubt is not and will never be the precursor of faith any more than light depends on darkness for its creation.” – Dale G. Renlund
1 John 1:8 “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”
Mr. Renlund sure busied himself with dodging the truth. While inserting their latest mantra of not doubting the Church and its lies, he used the ol’ trick of utilizing more lies to divert attention away from the truth.
If what this man said is true, then he’ll have to explain why Mormonism has been built upon the premise Adam and Eve were forced to sin in order for God to implement his plan of salvation. My, what a tangled web we weave…
Not only has he lied to himself, his wife and his family, he’s lied to young impressionable minds. At this level in the Church, this guy fully knows what he’s doing. Shame on him!
Here’s what we wrote on this subject back in 2012 –
Contradiction in LDS Teachings
Moroni 7:14 “Wherefore, take heed, my beloved brethren, that ye do not judge that which is evil to be of God, or that which is good and of God to be of the devil.”
Moses 5:11 “And Eve, his wife, heard all these things and was glad, saying: Were it not for our transgression we never should have had seed, and never should have known good and evil, and the joy of our redemption, and the eternal life which God giveth unto all the obedient.”
2 Nephi 2:23 “And they would have had no children; wherefore they would have remained in a state of innocence, having no joy, for they knew no misery; doing no good, for they knew no sin.”
2 Corinthians 11:13-14 “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”
Wow. I’ve got to say the evil one sure is tricky now isn’t he? Why would this be in their scripture when it totally contradicts what they’ve taught earlier in the BoM about Adam and Eve needing to be tricked with evil by God?
This type of philosophy is part of the Yin-Yang Theory which means it’s witchcraft. This obviously is NOT from the Lord who is a Perfect, and Holy God.
Be sure to share this info with the Mormon you know!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
Unfortunately, Mr Renlund, like most faithful members of the church, believe that salvation and church membership as one and the same. Mormons believe that baptism is necessary for salvation and that baptism is only legitimate IF the baptism is being performed by a Mormon Priesthood holder. In other words, if you aren’t being baptized into Mormonism, you can not be saved. This is one of their beliefs that the Missionaries don’t discuss in great detail with Investigators.
Mormons see themselves as being unique in the eyes of God. Jesus came that we might ALL have eternal life through faith in his name.
Everything you’ve said is true, but most LDS won’t know this because of the indoctrination of being taught they can’t trust God’s word. 🙁 Their view of salvation is an aesthetic one at best.
Church members continue spinning on a Hamster Wheel of Works NobodY can ever say they have done enough. Members are continually reminded that there is much work to do.. For example, one month you don’t volunteer for church cleanup because you cleaned the church twice last month. If you are asked about why you haven’t volunteered this month and you say because its because I cleaned the church twice last month, you are opening yourself up to a lecture about always putting your hand to the wheel. The Mormons are told that even in Heaven, there will be much work to do
