June 20 – Jesus. Is. God. Col. 2:8-9; “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.”

This epistle to the Colossians is arguably one of the richest passages of scripture indicating the nature of Jesus Himself. Paul lovingly warns us of the pitfalls of the modern-day philosophies, what they are filled with and compares those with what Jesus is embodied with; that being God incarnate.

“The offer of the firstborn Son to establish through His own ministry among men the gospel of salvation, and to sacrifice Himself, through labor, humiliation and suffering even unto death, was accepted and made the foreordained plan of man’s redemption from death, of his eventual salvation from the effects of sin, and of his possible exaltation through righteous achievement.” – James Talmage, Jesus the Christ, p. 18.
“And he has also shown me that the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, should manifest himself in the flesh; and after he should manifest himself in the flesh, they scourged him and crucify him and according to the words of the angels who spake unto me.” (2 Ne[hi 6:9)
“Now Zeezrom saith again unto him, Is the Son of God the very eternal father? Am=nd mulek said unto him, Yea, he is the very eternal father if heaven and if earth and all things which in them are, he is the beginning and the end, and the first and the last.” (Alma 11:38,39)
