There are times in life when we become aware the Lord is orchestrating events around us, and this becomes even more apparent when we start walking with Him.
Today we’re looking at a number of verses in His word where God reveals He resides inside His believers. No doubt, for each verse listed below there are numerous others!
For the sake of time and space, we’ve listed but a few of the times God reassures us that He lives inside of us. What comfort this has brought me countless times!
The flipside of this is the tragedy when some people don’t have the same luxury because they’ve bought into lies of others in whom they’ve placed their trust.
The Mormons, my beloved people, have done just that by following a man who decided to hate the Bible, and therefore, God Himself as well. It’s clear in the writings of his own prophecies from a false god his goal was to lead people away from the Lord, not to Him.
I was reminded of how empty my everyday life was before I became a Christian after speaking with my mother not long ago. Long story short, she obviously wasn’t aware Jesus could calm her rattled nerves during times of distress. Oh be still my heart…
We thought it’d be good to have a few verses on hand to share with your Mormon friends/loved ones. Be sure to point out how often God reassures us of His Holy Spirit residing inside of us – and remember beloved – unbelievers can already see there’s something different in your life compared to their own.
Above all things, we pray it brings Him glory, and the Mormon people will come to a saving knowledge of Christ Jesus, and Him crucified.
Be blessed!
—Doctrine and Covenants 130:3, 22 “John 14:23—The appearing of the Father and the Son, in that verse, is a personal appearance; and the idea that the Father and the Son dwell in a man’s heart is an old sectarian notion, and is false. 22 The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us.
—Jeremiah 31:33 “But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
—John 14:17 “Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”
—John 14:23 “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”
—Romans 8:10 “And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.”
—2 Corinthians 4:6-7 “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”
—Galatians 1:15-16 “But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood.”
—Galatians 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
—Galatians 4:19 “My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you.”
—Ephesians 3:17 “That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love.”
—Colossians 1:27 “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
—1 Corinthians 3:16 “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”
—1 Corinthians 6:19 “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”
—2 Thessalonians 1:10 “When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.”
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
Beautiful reminder. Indwelling Holy Spirit is almost too wonderful to comprehend. Your comment that Joseph hated the Bible, therefore hated God, really brought home how evil his soul was. That breaks my heart when I think of the millions who follow the church’s twists and turns, including my own family. As you are, I am always in prayer for all the lost.
Sometimes the topics I write about lay heavier on my heart than others. For some reason this one today did that. The conversation I had w/ my mother I mentioned still lingers in my mind, and I find my heart absolutely broken for her.
That same scenario goes for all Mormons as well. I just can’t imagine how the Lord must feel about it. It’s truly heart-wrenching. One of my favorite hymns is ‘On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand’, and ironically, my mother is fond of it as well. Now…if she’d just believe it!
Sometimes we may think our loved ones aren’t listening, but sometimes it just takes some people longer to come around. She hears you, she’s just not ready for such a drastic change.
And when your glass seems half empty Michelle, pour it in a smaller glass.
Hope you’re doing better 😊
Any doubts about God being with us constantly and continually, please read the entire Psalm 138: God’s spirit is always with us, guiding us. For example ” Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or, whither shall I flee from thy presence? I I ascend into heaver, thou art there: If I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take wings of the morning and dwell in th uttermost parts of the ea. Even there shall thy hand hold me. If I say, Surely, the darkness shall cover me, even the night shall be light around me. Tea, the darkness hideth not from thee, but the night shineth as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. Mt substance is not hid from thee. Search me God and know my heart; try me and know my thoughts (Psalm 138:7-23).
Bottom line, the entire psalm talks about God’s spirit being with us continually, whether we try to hide from him or not.
In Philippians 2: 13 :”For it is God that worketh in us that allows us to both will and to do of his good will.” In other words, it is the abiding of God’s Holy Spirit within us that gives us the ability, the strength, the fortitude, the revelation, the determination to keep his commandments and do his will

I believe that our loved ones lives are lived within a time frame created by God, not ourselves. Revelation is done on God’s time. PATIENCE is a hard thing to deal with. The Psalmist knew this when he said:
“WAIT ON THE LORD; be of good courage and he shall strengthen thy heart. WAIT, I say on the Lord.(Psalm 27:14)
