Journal of Discourses 13:178 “We are His sons and daughters naturally, and by the principles of eternal life. We are brethren and sisters. What is it that makes the distinctions we see in the classes of the children of men?
We see the low and the degraded, like the aborigines of our country; what is the cause of their being in their present condition? It is because of the rejection by their fathers of the Gospel of the Son of God. The Gospel brings intelligence, happiness, and glory to all who obey it and live according to its precepts. It will give them intelligence that comes from God. Their minds will be open so as to understand things as they are…” — Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, May 29, 1870
Galatians 3:28 “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Acts 17:26 “And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation”.
Foregoing the numerous unbiblical issues in Mr. Young’s sermon, we still have a few questions…
1.1 Corinthians 15:44-47 tells us there’s no pre-existence for mankind.
How are we sons and daughters of God if we weren’t in heaven yet?
2. The 2nd Article of Faith tells us man isn’t punished for their father’s transgressions.
If this is true, why are the ‘aborigines’ cursed because their fathers rejected the gospel in the pre-existence?
3. If Mr. Young was a true prophet of God, why did he carry racist views in his heart? God’s word tells us that He made all nations one blood.
While Mr. Young’s speech is from 150 years ago, the LDS Church still espouses their ungodly doctrines.
4. Mr. Young has shown that Mormons aren’t ‘one in Christ’ as Paul said in Galatians.
Ask the Mormon you know if they agree, or disagree, with Mr. Young’s talk. Be sure to use demonstrative evidence from their own doctrines, and God’s word!
For future reference, you can find this in our section on Racist Remarks of Leaders in the Church. We’ll be updating this by the end of the day.

I didn’t realize there were Aborigines in Salt Lake City in 1870.
And who says you can’t learn something new everyday.
I remember watching people in the parking lot of our Stake Center and Ward meeting place. So much blonde hair and blue eyes. It looked like some Aryian Center rally
